The last week has been quite unsettled, the rain has certainly benefitted the fruit which is now coming to its best. The Strawberries are slowly ending, very difficult picking in the fields now, however we are still finding a few for ready picked.
Thank you to everyone for coming during the last week, conditions at times have been more autumnal than high summer !!
The fruit is now as follows :
STRAWBERRIES : As above.
RASPBERRIES : Superb, they are now at their best, very easy picking.
BLACK CURRANTS : Again a superb crop very easy to pick and they have swelled well with the rain.
RED CURRANTS : The Rovada are now in full flow - very easy to pick and superb crop.
TAYBERRIES : Still plenty to pick, remember how good they are for jamming !
BLACKBERRIES : Just a nice picking now we have started to pick these last week.
GOOSEBERRIES AND RHUBARB : Finished for this year.
We still have Teas and Coffee available with homemade cake, Red Lion Ice Creams, Wells Dairy Cream , Diana Smiths wonderful array of Jams, Chutneys and Marmalades and ofcourse our own Apple Juice.
As we get to the latter part of the season, we hope to see you and hopefully the sun will shine !!
Very Best wishes
Tim, Julia and family
